I agree that the picture quality is quite nice. There are a few things you should know before you buy Samsung's LED TV, though. First (and I was not aware of this problem until AFTER I bought) the TV issues a loud humming sound that, particularly during quiet moments of a show or movie, is very annoying and distracting. You needn't be close to the set to hear it; the hum fills the room. I've tried various settings; nothing does away with it. I contacted Samsung regarding it. They won't even reply. Do a Google search; you'll find this problem is common with this TV. Also, and this too is something you won't find out until after you buy, but the LED screen is subject to burn-in. When watching something not in HD, you must adjust screen size in order to compensate for picture distortion. Some settings that do not occupy the whole screen, but sharpen the picture, you are warned against using for more than 2 hours as screen burn-in can (and will) occur; you'll have permanent bars burned into both sides of the picture. It says so in the manual, but you won't see the manual until after you've bought the set.
I am deeply disappointed with this expensive purchase. If you have a Samsung LED TV and don't have the annoying hum, or better still, have found a way to get rid of it, I'd love to know. In lieu of a solution to the problem, and Samsung's apparent lack of interest in dealing with it, I cannot in good faith recommend this TV. I am very disappointed, and out a lot of money.Get more detail about Samsung UN46B8000 46-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV.
